We often use third party SFP+s.

I would caution you that some vendors do produce inferior optics that do not meet specs.

When using good quality optics our only issue has been with a particular version of 21.x.x.x on a X620 in which case a code upgrade was required to see the ddmi information.

Be careful, and remember cheaper isn't always better.

Hello Rachid

Yes you can as Extreme doesn't not license our optics or lock them down. However one thing to note is that you take all of the risk. Although you can use the optics in the switches it does not mean we support them.

If you use a third party optic and have issues on that line you will need to move to a supported optic before opening up a case.

As David said above if the optic doesn't come from Extreme we can not verify they meet our specs.
