Sumit,

What version of EXOS are you using? The correct syntax of the command in recent versions is
tftp put vr vr-default Primary.cfg
Sumit,

I would first try to ping the TFTP server from the switch. If you can ping from the switch, check your TFTP settings or check to make sure your firewall is not blocking the communication.
Sumit,

If you are doing a backup to the tftp server I would opt to do it via a .XSF or a text file, I find them easier to use and more reliable if you ever need to restore. You can do that with the "upload configuration" command - it will upload a TXT file of the total config. Here would be the complete command:

upload configuration 10.65.41.4 bill.xsf vr "VR-Default" (substitute IP address and vr where neccessary)

Uploading bill.xsf to 10.65.41.4 ... done! (Showing completion...)

This creates a bill.xsf text file on the TFTP server that you can modify and copy back. You can cut and paste or you can "load script bill" to restore.

Hi, Sumit!

1. Difference between Upload and tftp put commands in file format in uploaded file.
Upload - .xsf file
tftp put - .cfg file

2. Have you trying put file to another PC? It's can be trouble with firewall in your PC/lap-top.

Thank you!

If you use vr-Default main ports - then "tftp put vr vr-Default primary.cfg"
If you use MGMT port of MSM module - then "tftp put vr vr-Mgmt primary.cfg" or do not specify VR.

Also you have to look that you home folder in TFTP server is configured right.
Also you have to look with "ls" command that primary.cfg is present in switch
