Hi Walt,

I believe this is typically done through some sort of neighbor discovery. This can be through LLDP, CiscoDP, or CDP protocols. I would imagine for the phones they are being discovered through LLDP.

Would anyone know how the port type is determined for policy manager display in the "Details View" tab? I have ports that are set with two vlans. One being the PVID and the other is tagged for IPT use. Some ipt phone ports get defined as interswitch while others are not. The neighbor column will have an entry also. In one case its a model number + the ipaddr of the phone. ThanksInAdvance
