I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong here, I currently have a stack of 5 switches (All X450-G2 using the front 10Gb ports)

I'm plugging in the rear dedicated 21Gbs ports but not getting any link light, do I need to disable the stack first before? Hopefully not as I'd love to do this the easy way 

For some reason, you already have configured your stack using "alternate" port, ie the 10G front ports, instead of the "Native" stacking ports (rear). Also, you are in daisy-chain, which is not recommended.

I think you need to reboot when you change from alternate port to native port.

From the provided output, I do not see a backup slot has been configured. Looks like a stack configuration issue. Could you try to rebuild the stack from scratch? Please execute the command "unconfigure switch all" from master slot to factory default the switches.

Also, I could see the Stack Topology is a Daisy-Chain. Please make sure all the stack cables are intact properly.

There's no backup because this is a daisy chained topology. Easy setup will default to that in such topology.
