Unable to configure traps in netsight console, getting an message : "unable to find events in log file"

We recently purchased netsight software, and was able to discover all the switches and getting all events messages. But unable to get the traps and syslogs. Followed the procedure mentioned in document, but not helped. I am getting an warning message in traps window "unable to find events in log file" .
Request you to please support for getting the same.

What is the model if the switch?

We are using A4H124-24TX is the model of switch and i referred "b0700ej_c" this document as well as web solutions for resolution.

ssh to the Netsight Appliance
type the command: service nssnmptrapd restart

Should i execute this command in switch or netsight installed station?

You need to restart the nssnmptrapd service in the NetSight server.

i restarted from services.msc

Hello,

Can you turn off the firewall? Sounds like it's NetSight install on a Windows system?

Also, I would install and run wireshark on the NetSight server and trigger a trap. I would be good to verify that the trap is making it to NetSight, and then investigate why NetSight isn't processing the trap.

Yes we installed netsight in Windows server 2008 R2, we allowed everthing in firewall (any-any).

Hi Prasanth,

Yes, the switch should be (enabled/configured) to send traps as well as syslog pointed towards the Netsight IP in case if this is not done yet.

If possible try to trigger a Trap and do a packet capture in Netsight and see if you can see the SNMP traps.

Or the easy way as Ryan stated install Wireshark in the Windows server where Netsight is running and capture the packets and look for the SNMP traps in the packet capture.

Other than Traps, i am able to get everything (like, alarms, logs, Console). request you to please provide the support on getting traps....

It was observed that always my Netsight SNMP traps services is automatically getting stopped in every 2 seconds.

In traps receiver configuration, it is showing that traps are receiving in 17 devices
