X480-24x stacking license

Dear community,

We have one Summit X480-24x with Core License.

We will use VIM2-10G4X to stack it with a new X480-24X..

Questions :

1- is X480-24X supports stacking via VIM2 (10G links) ?

2- is stacking required license for X480-24X ?

3- for new Switch X480-24X; do we need to purchase core license ?

Hello Rachid,

Yes, you can use the VIM2 module for stacking in the x480.

A license is not required for stacking. The license on all the nodes need to match if they are master-capable switches. You can build a stack where slot 1 will be master and slot 2 will be standby and have the core license installed on slot 1 but you will lose your redundancy within the stack.
