Inter L2VSN multicasting in SPBm deployment

Hi everybody,

We are testing SPBm solution for possible future deployment of a L2 fabric into our Campus. However, we’re facing problem with multicast diffusion between L2VSN: how is it possible to address such traffic in this case ?

Hi rodjeur70, we don’t do InterISID Multicast routing as we don’t want to connect two multicast trees in the fabric, but rather build one multicast tree only per stream. Thus for your solution to work, your BEBs will have to participate as MC routers. You can do so by enabling MC on them as well. You can still do Unicast InterISID routing in parallel.

If you don’t want to manually configure MC on the “L2 BEBs” you can make them DVR leafs and have the DVR controller push the MC configuration to the DVR leafs.
