Hi Theo, thank you very much for taking the time to respond. This is good to know. I had a feeling it was something to do with the VM but I couldn't find any info on it. Thanks!

I am just messing with VOSS switches for the first time, I am using GNS3 to test different configurations. I have been stuck trying to do something as simple as passing a vlan down through the network(VMfortigate -> VM-VOSS) to a windows machine. I am using VOSSVMv8.4.0.0 in the latest version of GNS3 2.2.26. I created two vlans vlan 10 and 20. On port 1/1 I added both vlans and checked PerformTagging, on port 1/5 I only added vlan 10. When I connect the Windows VM I do not get a DHCP address from the upstream fortigate. Could this be GNS3 related? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Matthew,

There is no data plane in VOSS VM.
That mean that you can't carry trafic through the VM. You can only test your config.

You can try it with EXOS VM, it works fine.

regards,
Théo
