Unfortunately, RMA maybe the only answer here, we might be looking at fault ports. If you do follow through with an RMA, our techs will test the returned device to see if they can find the issue, which will hopefully help us prevent this issue coming up for anyone in the future.

Hi everybody,

Today, a post with an odd problem. Few weeks ago, I was faced with 3 contiguous ethernet ports on a 5420M-48W-4YE switch which won't come up whereas PoE was delivering power. Admin state was up, but nothing. Making a test directly with a standard PC on same port was failing too: no ethernet connectivity. Switch was running since one year without problem. Rebooting it or even resetting it was unusefull. So I opened a case and RMA was initiated.
Ok. But yesterday, I was facing same issue with a new switch same model...and so I decided to ask you if someone encountered same problem or if anybody have an idea...

Regards.

Sounds like something our engineers need to dig into further, was anyone able to open a case for this issue? And if so, was there a resolution besides and RMA?

Hi @SamPirok

Not able to open a specific case because considered device is not covered by a support contract. When I've opened the case, direct RMA was proposed to me, that's all.

Best regards.
