Hi Joseph,

i am connected to Serial console and i get this kind of status messages:

TOR11:1(config)#
TOR11:1(config)#
TOR11:1(config)#
TOR11:1(config)#1 2018-06-14T09:05:17.990+02:00 TOR11 CP1 - 0x000e0598 - 00000000 GlobalRouter HAL INFO GBIC inserted in slot 1 Port 1 Type:GbicSx Vendor:JDS UNIPHASE
TOR11:1(config)#1 2018-06-14T09:06:08.360+02:00 TOR11 CP1 - 0x00088524 - 00000000 GlobalRouter SW INFO Boot sequence successful1 2018-06-14T09:08:08.282+02:00 TOR11 CP1 - 0x0006469b - 00000000 GlobalRouter MLT WARNING smltTick: The IST control channel failed to come up within 240 seconds; unlocking SMLT ports.1 2018-06-14T09:08:16.819+02:00 TOR11 CP1 - 0x000e0597 - 00000000 GlobalRouter HAL INFO GBIC removed from slot 2 Port 5 Type:40GbCR4 Vendor:Extreme1 2018-06-14T09:08:25.908+02:00 TOR11 CP1 - 0x000e0598 - 00000000 GlobalRouter HAL INFO GBIC inserted in slot 2 Port 5 Type:40GbCR4 Vendor:ExtremeTOR11:1(config)#
TOR11:1(config)#So the switch tell me status changes about hardware, Interfaces, Routing, SPBM, etc

in some cases - if i have only a ssh session (and no serial console - because i am remote connected) i want to redirect this kind of messages to the local ssh session.
Currently i have to check "show logging file tail" every seconds if i expect some change.

The searched functionality is more elegant because the occured message are pop up / injected into my ssh session.

In some troubleshooting cases i need log / console messages in current SSH CLI session.

In EXOS i can use "enable log target session" to redirect console log messages to current SSH session.
I am sure this is also possible in recent VSP 7200 VOSS (6.1.x).

Can you provide an example of a message that is getting logged to the console that is not also showing up in the log (show log file tail)?

Hi M.Nees,
yes,

you can see logging in real time on your screen by using 'logging screen enable' when you use telnet and ssh session.
