you will need a licence to activate the 10g speeds i cnt remember exactly which licence i think its edge but m not sure someone can better point which licence to use for 10 g speeds and any other additional features you may want

You require the 10gb port licence to upgrade like Ronald says please look at the data sheet it will point you in the right direction

You need the license.

16542 Dual 10GbE Upgrade License License that converts the two non-stack 1GbE SFP ports to be 10GbE SFP+

16543 Quad 10GbE Upgrade License License that converts four 1GbE SFP ports to be 10GbE SFP+

That would allow either 2x or 4x 10GB ports.

Then you 'd need to plug in the 10GB SFPs and it should work.

Hi Alok,

You need to redeem the upgrade license at Extreme's extranet to get the license key, then you have to issue the following command at the switch CLI:

# enable license

Your X440-G2 switch should be ready to use 10Gig modules.

I upraded licence with "

16542 - Dual 10GbE Upgrade License - License that converts the two non-stack 1GbE SFP ports to be 10GbE SFP+" but port is not getting active. No led indication.

This license upgrades the 2 non-stack port to 10G. Physically speaking, this is the first two. So only these ports can do 10G, out of the 4 available. Are you connecting to the correct ports?
