topic XIQ: proxy-arp and broadcast storms from wired network in ExtremeWireless (IQE)

I see large amounts of ARP traffic from the network with a single client on a test SSID bridged on a production vlan.

I have proxy-arp enabled by default, or at least I think so (see https://docs.aerohive.com/330000/docs/help/english/ng/Content/gui/configuration/configuring-management-options.htm). I have also enabled filtering unwanted broadcast traffic at the SSID, but I can see tons of broarcast ARP coming in on the client (wireshark capture on the wifi interface).

The same vlan is used by production networks for XIQ-Controller. Clients associated to SSIDs there do not see broadcast storms or other unwanted broadcast traffic coming in.

So it is technically possible to block unwanted broadcasts and ARP, and I have to find out which knob to use.

Is this old proxy-arp bug and the workaround still a thing? https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000099277 Customer is experiencing Broadcast storms which seems to come from Access Points

How do you preserve airtime from unwanted ARPs?
