topic Altitude 350 Factory Reset in ExtremeWireless (General)

I struggle to reset an Altitude 350-2e Access Point. I can connect by telnet but the login is always "incorrect" with the credentials I found in this thread: https://community.extremenetworks.com/extreme/topics/ap2605-factory-reset
What is the problem, what am I doing wrong?
To reset the Altitude 350-2 AP to its factory default settings:

1. Power off, and then switch on the Altitude AP. The Altitude AP reboots.
2. Power off, and then switch on the Altitude AP during the vulnerable time interval.
Unfortunately this didn't work for me. What worked for me was to get access to serial console on the device and boot it up with the startup script called "factory". That finally allowed me to login via telnet using the default password mentioned in the other thread.
