Hi,

We came across that with Avaya APs in the past, so I write a script to search DHCP for MAC addresses. I run that and DHCP is clear of the MACs of the 2 APs.

The 2 APs are straight out of the box, so they’ve never been used on any other sites.

I couldn’t even find out any CLI commands on the AP to look at log files either, so I’m stuck.

We have hundreds of Avaya APs, all getting their IP addresses from DHCP reservations in a Microsoft DHCP server.

I created 2 reservations for 2 AP305c APs but they don’t receive their IP address. If I delete the reservations, they get IP addresses no problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Hi dabler,

That reminds me an old bug in the MS-DHCP server.

When the device has more than one reservation, then it doesn’t get the IP from DHCP.

You need to check and be sure that this MAC has no reservation in another scope.

Mig
