Controller/AP limitation

Hello, all!

C35 controler have limit:
- 250 AP as forwarding traffic
- (twice) 500 AP as Radar

Question:
If I have local AP's and Radar AP's how calculate limit?

For example:
- 500 Radar-AP's
how many local AP's I can add to controller? (no one?)
- 250 local AP's
how many Radar AP's I can add? (no one?)
- 100 local AP's
how many Radar AP's I can add to controller? (300 Radar?)

Hi Alex,

the C35 controller could support 125 local APs.
If you pair 2x C35 in an availability pair they could together support 250APs.

The same limit is valid for RADAR.
Every AP consumes a AP license even if you only use them for RADAR/guardian.

Summary: you'd only have 125APs per C35 controller

OK.

I open "Wireless User Guide":
AP Limitations
The maximum number of APs that can be licensed for Radar is twice the platform limit for local APs.
Once the maximum number of APs is reached, no new licenses can be installed.

So if we have 1 x C35, then we can terminate 125 or 250 Radar AP's?

125APs per Controller

The wording is the important thing .... "can be licensed" that doesn't mean that you'd connect that many on a single controller.

The manual is trying to tell you that you'd install twice as much RADAR licenses because the RADAR enginee is only running on one controller if you've a controller pair... so it makes sense to install the licenses on that controller.

BUT since 9.21 that isn't important anymore as a controller pair shares all licenses with each other in an license pool.

So, do I understand correctly?
if C35 Controller can 125 AP's then I can mix AP's (local and radar) as I want.
but can't exceed limit of 125 AP's.

Correct.
i.e. you'd connect 125APs but only 50 have RADAR enabled then you'd need 125AP licenses and 50RADAR licenses.
