Hello

We have country code set for UK. Can someone please tell me why I don't get the full set of UNII2e channels to choose from. I only get 100, 104, 108 and 112. What has happened to the remaining 7 channels that should be available.

Hi Simon

Can you confirm on which access point(s) you are seeing this on and also the firmware you are using?

If the AP has external antennas, which ones are selected?

Can you attach a screenshot showing what you are seeing?

Thanks

APs are 3715i's and firmware is 09.21.01.0179.

The attached picture is what I see when i try to edit channel plans.

As you can see there are some of the UNII2e channels missing

The number of channels supported will change based on HT20 or HT40 MHz width selections. HT40 has less supported channels than using HT20.
Thanks Doug, that explains it. Seems an odd way to do it though. If I did HT40 then I would expect to see only 2 of the non DFS channels yet I can see them all.
Hi Doug

I don't mean to harp on about this, but the datasheet for the AP states the following:

5.47 to 5.725 GHz (FCC / IC / ETSI)

Now to me that would imply 5.47, 5.725 and everything in between, would you not agree?

The datasheet is lumping in all countries that support those bands along with the ones that do not. The channel list the ap uses is based on the country selection of the ap.

Thanks,
seems a little misleading to me. Channel support is a very important aspect of AP capability. I think it should be clearer which channels extreme have stripped out in each domain. We are ETSI and a good deal of the missing channels are allowed in our reg domain. Do you know why they are not included?

Simon / Doug,

We confirmed with the compliance team, and this is a special case for the AP3715i. There were some limitations observed during certification testing. So for these reasons when AN-HT40 is selected only the channels in the pull down shown below would be available. Channels 132/136 are permanently disabled for band edge issues and channels 116-120 and 124-128 are disabled for DFS Channel availability check reasons. Channel 140 is not allowed as it would only be bonded up to channel 144 which is not allowed. As a result, for the AP3715i you are limited to the existing channels shown in the pull down. Regards,

Hello, Sorry to bring this up again, can we elaborate on "channels 116-120 and 124-128 are disabled for DFS Channel availability check reasons." I assume this is a vendor specific (Extreme) restriction of some sort? I can quite happily use the channels on a different vendor in the UK.
