WS-AP3805i use with a Summit X440-8P switch.

I want to connect a wireless access point WS-AP3805i to my Summit X440-8P switch. Can I do that without a controller or wireless appliance? If so, how do I set up the WS-3805i?

Hello,

The AP3805i is not an autonomous AP and will require either a physical or virtual controller to function.

You could provide wireless service through ExtremeCloud.

How would the extreme cloud software configure the Wireless AP if I don't have the Summit X440 G2 switch. I have the X440 (non G2) that is not compatible with Extreme Cloud?

The switch doesn't needs to support it if the AP is cloud capable. In that case the AP connects to the cloud and you could configure it via the cloud GUI.
