Hi Danny,

If you have 2 controllers working in High-Availability mode, then you can leave all the 26xx and 36xx APs in one controller and register the new 39xx APs in the 2nd controller. The only problem is that if one of the controllers fail during this migration period, the APs will not fail over to the other controller.

We want to migrate a Wifi project with 200 AP26xx and AP36xx in V9.21 to 200 new AP3935 with V10 in a smooth way in a hospital. We like to do it floor by floor. However, the problem is that the V9.21 will not support the new AP3935 and if we upgrade directly to V10.21 , then the actual AP V26xx and V36xx will not work anymore. Anybody an idea to avoid a big bang where all 200 AP have to be replaced at the same time?
Thx for the reply.....my plan was also to connect all the old active AP on the second controller in V9 , upgrade the master controller to V10. Then replace the old AP with the new AP 3935 and the DHCP option will send the new AP the new V10 master controller.
Critical point is indeed when the backup controller goes off line for some reason. The no old AP will work anymore.I was hoping for a more "secure" and less reisky way to migrate this. 
we hat the same situation (migration from ~600 aps 26xx and 36xx to 38xx and 3935)

we ordered an upgrade from our current controllers 2xc5110 to 2xv2110 large and for the migration period we could use both controller pairs thanks to extreme

the old c5110 were running 9.x and the new v2110 were running 10.x

the migration went very smooth 
