As far as PoE redundancy is concerned, the 3825 supports redundant PoE power but the AP will reboot if it loses power on the primary port and will come back up on the secondary port. Alternative it can support transparent power failover with an external power supply. For the sake of completeness the 3935 does support hitless PoE failover.

Thanks,
Hi everyone!

Is it possible to perform an MLAG connection between two Summit Switches and 3825i APs?
Our intention is to provide POE and LAG functionality simultaneously to the AP.

.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Alex.
Haven't tried this, but I would expect the MLAG/LACP portion to work. However, I'm not sure about the PoE redundancy. See this: https://gtacknowledge.extremenetworks.com/articles/Solution/AP3825-cannot-be-powered-when-connecting...

Hope it helps.

MLAG is used on the switch. The AP will use LACP and POE should work as well.

Hey Alex

MLAG is the function of the switches so any device that can do a LAG connection can be connected to XOS switches running MLAG.
So using MLAG we will be able to provide POE redundancy and LAG functionality simultaneously, right?
If both connection ends up on different switches ...yes for sure. If the ports ends on the same switch it's depend on the switch type. See the kb. regards Umut
