Hi Carlo,

If you delete a WLAN service for an active site you will no longer be able to monitor the AP's deployed at the remote site.

The HA aspect of the system will not increase the number of WLAN services you can offer. Should there ever be a failure you would not be able to maintain more than 32 WLAN services.

I hope this makes sense.

Hi Carlo,

You have reached the system limit for the appliance you have.

Perhaps if the system you have is going to continue to grow a V2110 appliance would be better suited to your needs?

Hope this helps.
We are currently using a C35 controller. And we are creating different VNSs' for every remote site. Is it ok to delete the old vns to accommodate new ones? And would it affect my past remote APs if i want to monitor them remotely also? Because as of now we still need to create more VNSs' for other sites.

Hi Carlo,

You cannot delete WLAN services that are being used the controller will not let you.

If there are WLAN services that are no longer required then i would recommend you delete them. If however, they are all currently active, then i would not recommend to delete them. You will not be able to add further WLAN services in your current set up due to system limitations.

Do you know how many more sites you will be growing to?

Hope this helps.
I'd move to a VM controller if you've the hardware available.
It's cheap and as you'd see in the table provided by Sam you'd configure a lot more VNSs/WLAN services/topologies.

As you only use one port on the C35 it should be that hard to export the config and import it in a V2110.

Its impossible to move to a virtual type controller because this controller was just recently bought. Just want to verify if we use the HA of the controller because we have an redundant controller for the said purpose, could it increase the number of WLAN services we could create?

Hi Sam,

Is it possible to use the existing profiles for our new remote sites? The only difference of the content of profiles are their names.
They have the same IP addresses with other sites. Are we going to have any conflict problems when it comes to monitoring remote APs? Im going to create a diagram to explain this query.

Hi Carlos,

Perhaps you could look into consolidating the WLAN services, then using roles and VLANs to help you achieve your goal.

If each site HAS to have multiple unique WLAN services then you will require a higher capacity system.

A WLAN service can be applied to multiple sites if required.

Hi Sam,

Could we still do a HA system with the two controllers having different VNSs?

If not we could use our second controller for our other remote offices.
Hi Carlo,

Unfortunately you can not.

Without purchasing additional hardware, using the controllers to create two separate systems as you suggested would be your best course of action.

To maintain some form of redundancy should you decide to deploy the equipment this way and use a B@AP topology. I would recommend enabling; 'maintain client sessions in the event of a poll failure' and 'restart service in the absence of a controller'. This can be done by going to the advanced menu of each AP and checking the boxes.

This will ensure that the AP remains active in the event of a link loss with the controller. Please understand that AP logging, software upgrades and configuration changes will be unavailable until the link to the controller is re-established.

I hope this answers your query.
