Can WAP's be externally managed?

Hey Extreme Community,

We have a few extra WAP’s (WS-AP3935i) and was wondering if there is a way to manage them from a different office. They are currently all setup to work in our Denver office but I was hoping there is a way to manage them if I ship them to our LA Office?

Hello!

You can configure AP’s as local, so foreign.
Also for foreign AP’s you have possibility to configure mode Site (when Controller unavailable - AP’s still normally working)

Will they attach through a VPN from one office to another? Physically an access point can be anywhere, you can configure the ap to go through multiple options to get its controller IP for it to connect. The ap has to be able to first know about the controller's IP and then be able to attach to it.
