Hi community,

I have a bit confuse about some WiNG AP warranty.

With older indoor AP like 75xx, 8432, 8533,... they have Ltd. Lifetime Warranty (WiNG), but with new indoor AP like 7612, 7632, they have 01 year warranty.

Could someone tell me about this difference?
Does it mean new AP not able to expand multi-year warranty by NBD AHR service?

Thanks.

Hello Son;
You can find Extreme warranty info here:
https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?n=000005897&q=wing%20warranty

I need to check but I believe that AP's 75xx, 8432, 8533 came over with Zebra warranty where AP76xx are manufactured and warrantied by Extreme. Hence why you see the discrepancy.

Hi Son,

AP like 75xx, 8432, 8533,.. are from Zebra.
Extreme Warranty are continuations of the Zebra warranty provisions in place at the time of acquisition.

Hi Son,

Yes, I think you need to purchase "Return to Factory" entitlement.
I kindly request that you could reconfirm with our local sale team whether you could order "Return to Factory" for wing products.

Best regards,

Hi Robert

At the following link http://www.extremenetworks.com/support/policies/#warrantyTag when I search for AP 7522 I get the following:

WiNG WirelessAP 7522: INDOOR 802.11AC AP, INT ANT EUAP 7522: INDOOR 802.11AC AP, INT ANT EUAP-7522-67030-EU Ltd. Lifetime Warranty (WiNG)

What exactly is Ltd. Lifetime Warranty (WiNG) ?

What does it mean in regards to hardware replacement and what in software releases. Do those get critical security patches (e.g. Krack ) regardless of support contract?

thank you in advance.
Hi Konstantios,

For Ltd, lifetime Warranty(WiNG), you could reference the document of “Extreme Networks Product Warranty” as follows.

http://learn.extremenetworks.com/rs/641-VMV-602/images/Extreme-Networks-Product-Warranty.pdf

The product warranties provide limited protection to address potential manufacturing defects, not software defect.

For the software defect, you need have a paid maintenance contract.

However, Krack is a very specially case. Extreme Networks understands customer's security concern. Therefore, we are offering a free, one-time download for ExtremeWireless and ExtremeWireless WiNG customers.

https://learn.extremenetworks.com/Wi-Fi-Vulnerability-Firmware-Download-oct2017_LP.html

Best regards,
