Bonjour,

I'm new to extreme devices and Wing. Can anyone help me understand in adaption what is pool and level. Why should I need to mention pool and level counts.?

EX:- controller host xx.xx.xx.xx pool 1 level 2
Hi Vimalraj,

My understanding is that this is functionality to provide load balancing of adopted AP across multiple controllers.

Please see page 5 - 45 in the WiNG 5.9 WLC Service Reference Guide: http://documentation.extremenetworks.com/WiNG/5.9.1/9035204_WiNG_5_9_1_WC_SRG.pdf

Hope that helps!

Thanks,
Darrel.
Thanks for the information. I get to know that what is adoption, but still difficult to understand pool and level concepts.
Hello Vimalrag,
We have some very useful documentation in GTAC Support in regards to adoption and mint/pool levels explained. Please either call 800.872.8440 or online submission http://support.extremenetworks.com to get a support case generated in order that we can provide the documentation.

Hi,
you can add two pools of controller for fail over. Most WiNG installation use just one pool.

The level is for MINT links. You can see it as routing, level 1 for local deployments and level 2 for NOC deployments with different RF domains.

Pool1=<CLUSTER->1-NX-1>,<CLUSTER->1-NX-2>;Pool2=<CLUSTER->2-NX-1>,<CLUSTER->2-NX-2>;level=1|2
</CLUSTER-></CLUSTER-></CLUSTER-></CLUSTER->

Hi there!

This command allows you to select routing levels for IPv4, IPv6, or hostname. At the command line, pool options are 1 or 2 (default is 1). Then choose a routing level: 1 being local routing and 2 being inter-site routing.
