Hi,
we have extreme AP 7502 and controller VX9000. we need to adopt AP 7502 to vx9000.we are working on the local/standalone platform.

Hi Niyas,

Both devices if on the same vlan, AP7502 should be able adopt to VX9000 controller (VLAN adoption).

Do AP able to reach controller? You may try on IP adoption.

when i try to adopt ap7502 with Mint level 1 deployment - No cluster,but showing error-not adopted to any wireless controller

Can you try command below in controller and AP and confirm from the logs if they had attempt to adopt?
show adoption history
show mint mlcp history

And did your controller able to ping on AP?

Hi, it shows that your license are not installed in your controller. You will need to purchase license in order to adopt it. Meanwhile, you can send request for demo license while waiting for your permanent license to arrive.

Can you provide output of command below from your controller and send it to support@extremenetworks.com with [wing] on your email subject title, to get demo license
show license
show version

we already have voucher ID,but when try to activate through extreme portal showing error.

Hi Niyas,

The simplest way for your deployment( different vlan for VX9000 and AP7502) will be using controller host and point the AP to VX9000 IP(make sure they are reachable by ping)

VX9k requires a VX Platform license in order to adopt if you have not installed it, it will not adopt any APs. Please open a GTAC case as per Wei or call in.

Please call GTAC, we will help you resolve this. Have your voucher# and output of the CLI command 'show ver' from the VX9000 when you call in.

You have to be sure about your VX9000 applicance license. did you check your VX9000 Serial number ( sh version) ??

1 - VX and AAP licenses should be valid on the controller
2 - If applying the VX license using this command : #license VX and getting an error then the key might have been created when the VX had a different IP address. When the IP address on the VX controller is modified, the serial number changes and this disables all licenses. If this is the case, recreate the license/s using new serial number. Type VX in upper case when running the licensing command.
3 - Make sure the AP can ICMP and Mint ping the controller and vice versa
4 - Make sure ports 24576 and 24577 are not blocked
