Hi,

DHCP-only feature is very similar to captive portal process flow - no DHCP request - no further client communication. As long as we are speaking on wireless clients - all of them support DHCP client functionality. So hosting on WiNG the DHCP server making static bindings could be the solution.

Misha

Hello!

In WiNG we can restrict clients with static IP with “Enforce DHCP Client only”.

But could we make some exceptions?

Like few devices have to have manually configured IP’s, other - with DHCP and don’t accept other non-dhcp clients.

Thank you!

Hello,

As long as exceptions anyway will be done by MAC why not to provide those "static" IPs as a static DHCP bindings?

Regards,

 Misha

Hello, Mishal!

Same answer I gave to Customer, but question is still present.

As AP check clients flows (does it present dhcp frames or not) - could WiNG make exceptions for that or not?
🙂

Thank you!
