Yes,

this is possible.

First you have to configure in the AP profile or override the email details, like server and recipient.
Commands are "email-notification host" and "email-notification recipient".

Next you have to configure an event-system policy. In this policy are 432 events already pre-defined, but all are configured as off, e.g.:
event diag cpu-load syslog off snmp off forward-to-switch off email off
For each event you want to receive an email for, you have to configure the parameter "email" to "on".

Once done you have to assign this event-system policy to the AP profile or override.

That's it...

Hi Matt,

I was referring to the CLI commands.
In the GUI have to select Configuration/Devices/System Profile/
double click on your profile, e.g. default-ap7522 and then move to Management/Settings.
There you will find the section "Events E-mail Notification" in the lower half of the screen:

To configure and map the Event-System policy to the AP profile move to Configuration/Devices/Event Policy.
If you click there "Activate Event Policy"

the policy is automatically mapped to the AP profile.

Best regards,
Angelo

Hi Angelo,

Thank you for clarifying. Under configuration I do not have these options. See below for how my menu looks. I went through every one and do not see the options you are mentioning.

Hello Matt,

This feature is not supported in WiNG Express which is what your APs are running on. My recommendation is to upgrade them all into WiNG Enterprise and configure them from there per Angelos instructions.

Here's a link with instructions on changing your Express APs into Enterprise: https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000089916

I hope this helps,

Chris

Hello Matt,

To download the firmware I believe the APs should be under a support agreement. The conversion version was 5.9.2.0 but of course we recommend getting them up to the latest 5.x firmware and if expansion into the 11ax universe is planned then to 7.x firmware.

Here's a link on how you may download firmware: https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000085387

I hope this helps,

Chris
