AP305c Questions

Hello,

I have some AP305c to adopt in a VX9000 (WiNG based). The suggestion I received was upgrade the VX firmware to 7.6.3.0 or above, to active the NOVA UI (currently running 7.6.2). As this update was not yet possible, I created the AP305c profile and other configuration via cli, and it worked, but the AP are not adopting automatically, and this is my first question: should the AP automatically adopt even without NOVA support running in the controller? Im using an auto provisioning policy.

And the second question: is there any specific driver to acess the console port of this AP? I'm trying several cables and driver, but always shows an error on the device.

Hello Matheus,

In regard to the first part of your question, we'll need to know how you are adopting the APs (Option 191, controller host command, DNS, etc).

I would recommend you start by disabling the provisioning policy rule for this AP and attempt to adopt it using one of the above methods. If it adopts without issue then investigate the provisioning policy rule.

But to answer your question, yes the AP should adopt without enabling NOVA.
