VX9000 / 802.1x/EAP authentication with OpenLDAP and Samba linux domain.

Hi guys,

I’m doing a new installation with VX9000.

I need to authenticate users by 802.1X/EAP

The enviorement use Linux SAMBA domain and OpenLDAP server.

I can’t found any documentations about this deploy. Can anyone share information with me?

Samba domain server: 172.30.0.85

OpenLDAP server: 172.30.0.240

How would be the configuration in this scenario?

Hi Claudio,

If you wish to use WiNG to reach LDAP, I’d recommend to run internal RADIUS server on WiNG (APs or controller) and refer to LDAP as a user repository. I have some old doc but might be helpful for this: https://1drv.ms/b/s!AvxWpCsRBHSfgxhFLHrxaQhVhloS?e=BYMxLP

Thank you for your reply.

The authentication worked. Pointing the config to LDAP Server and configure ldap agent a user from Samba domain. The strange is that the status of “Ldap Agent status” is “not joined to domain.” Even that the autentication it is working
