Hi again dear Extreme Network Community Members

Please let me to open this new issue about my access point network based on AP460e model which we manage also through our Controller ExtremeWireless WING.

We have a network of 5Ghz Access Points ,AP460e model installed and separated according to a previous engineering. The first one installed is configured on the 100ww channel with a bandwidth of 80Mhz. The next AP is configured on the 116ww channel with the same 80 Mhz bandwidth.

We were experiencing a problem in which the APs configured to work on the 116ww channel (radio2), their radio never went to the "on" state. They always remained in the "radar scan" state.

Thinking that it was due to a 100ww/116ww channel adjacency problem, we decided to change to the 132ww channel with which the radio state went to "on". However, even though the controller sends the 132ww channel with 80 Mhz bandwidth in its profile, the radio does not go beyond a 20 Mhz bandwidth.

We launch the "show wireless radio detail" command on these APs working on the 132ww channel and their bandwidth is always at 20 Mhz as shown below:

We have reviewed the configuration profile that is loaded to the AP460e many times, checking that the configuration is correct for radio interface 2: Cha 132ww, 80Mhz

What could be happening? Has anyone in the community had this problem?

Why does channel 116ww not go beyond the "radar scan" state?

Why does channel 132 not work with a bandwidth of 80 Mhz as it is sent through the driver and instead remains working at 20Mhz?

I would really appreciate anyone who could give me some things to review or help me with this situation.

Can you advise the version of code/firmware the AP is using and the country code assigned to the AP?

Morning Hann,

I would recommend upgrading the firmware to 7.7.1.11 or 7.9.5.1
The current version of code is many revisions behind.
Based on the country code those channels should be available.
