Hello. I have ~10 AccessPoints AP410i (wing 7.7.1.8-009R) which work in same domain and select virtual controller via option "Enable auto election of VC".

Created some vlan, linked to Wlan - Radio2 (5hz).

I see and can connect to my SSID, get ip address and can open different resources. But I have problem with delivery or get internet traffic via WiFi segment. Packets is lost or long time response when. I tried ping to my gateway and external internet resource. Problem is always, even if I stay in one place)

I configured my second interface(Ge2) and plug in to ethernet cable from my computer, get ip addres from my dhcp server and tried ping and open internal or external resource. Here is good.

Problem only via WiFi segment and I don't understand , what i can do somelse.

Can you help me?

Hello Aleksandr123, to check what acutally is ongoing, you can use the service commands on CLI on your AP and then visualize the traffic. E.g.: service pktcap on interface vlan 1 , or service pktcap on bridge...etc...Please use "?" to see options, like filter, ports etc. By that, you can see, if any of your traffic is blocked or dropped. May be you did enable FW settings , which might block your Traffic comming in via WLAN? May be it makes sense to share your config so the community might provide better advise .(in case of private data, like Preshared Keys, please anonymize those, before sharing) Regards

So a wireless client can access INTERNAL resources on the WLAN but not anything on the Internet, correct?

My first suspicion is DNS. From the connected wireless client, see if it can properly resolve an Internet website. (example, PING www.google.com and see if a correct IP address is returned). Also, make sure you can reach/PING your default route for the Internet.

I faced a similar issue with my AP410i setup earlier, and it turned out to be related to a few network factors. Here’s what helped me fix it:

Weak Wi-Fi Signal: The signal strength was inconsistent in some areas, which caused packet loss and slow response times. Adjusting AP placement improved stability.

Router Configuration Issues: Some router settings were incorrectly configured. After reconfiguring the network and verifying VLAN assignments, the connection became more reliable.

Network Congestion: Too many devices were using bandwidth at the same time, which affected the Wi-Fi segment. Limiting background usage and prioritizing traffic for my SSID made a big difference.

After addressing these points, my connectivity through Wi-Fi became stable and the packet loss stopped. Now we can play games , watch dramas without any troubleshoot.

Hey there,
WiFi connection issues can come from a few common causes. First, try restarting your router and device it often clears temporary network glitches. If that doesn’t help, check if other devices are having the same issue; that can tell you whether it’s your device or the router.

You might also want to move closer to the router or reduce obstacles (like walls or metal furniture) that can weaken the signal. If your router has both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, try switching between them 2.4GHz covers longer distances, while 5GHz is faster but more limited in range.

If none of that helps, a quick router firmware update or changing the WiFi channel might fix interference problems.

Hope this helps you get a stable connection again!

It sounds like your wired network is working fine, so the issue is likely isolated to the wireless configuration or RF environment rather than VLAN or DHCP. Since you're experiencing packet loss and high latency over WiFi, I’d suggest checking for channel interference on the 5 GHz band and ensuring your APs aren’t overlapping channels too aggressively—auto VC setups can sometimes cause suboptimal channel planning.

Also, review transmit power settings and client load balancing, as too many APs in close proximity can create roaming or congestion issues. Firmware mismatches or bugs in the wing 7.7.1.8 version could also be a factor, so testing with a stable recommended release might help.

For a simple way to test responsiveness and reaction timing (which can sometimes highlight latency inconsistencies in a fun way), you could try something like Play Hit the Button alongside your diagnostics to observe delays more interactively.

Finally, consider running a WiFi analyzer to inspect signal strength, noise levels, and retry rates—this usually reveals whether the problem is interference, misconfiguration, or hardware-related.

It definitely sounds like a wireless-specific issue since your wired connection on Ge2 is working perfectly.

From what you’ve described, I’d start by checking RF interference and channel overlap, especially on 5GHz. When multiple AP410i units are in the same area with auto VC enabled, they can sometimes pick overlapping channels or operate at high transmit power, which leads to packet loss and unstable latency.

Also, try:

Reducing transmit power slightly on each AP

Manually assigning non-overlapping channels

Testing with fewer APs active to rule out co-channel interference

Checking if any client devices are “sticking” to weaker APs

Another thing worth verifying is whether your WLAN settings (QoS, bandwidth limits, or rate limiting) are affecting traffic flow over WiFi.

I’ve seen similar behavior in larger covered environments where signal reflection and structure layout impact performance — proper planning really matters in those setups, much like how Shelter Tent manufacturers approach large-span covered areas to maintain stability and efficiency.

Start with channel optimization first — that usually fixes most packet loss issues in setups like yours.

It sounds like a WiFi-specific issue, since your wired connection works fine. I’d suggest checking channel interference on 5GHz—try switching to a less congested channel or adjusting channel width. Also, verify transmit power settings and ensure all APs aren’t overlapping too aggressively, which can cause packet loss. Roaming settings and load balancing can also affect stability, so testing with those disabled might help isolate the issue. Additionally, firmware consistency across all APs is important. I recently read about timing and performance patterns in different systems—this Çin Takvimi guide offers an interesting perspective: https://cintakvimi.tr/. Proper tuning should significantly improve your WiFi performance.
