Article ID: 14499

Products
C5-Series, firmware 6.42.08.0007 through 6.61.03.0004

Changes
Installed a MGBIC-LC01 and a MGBIC-LC09 uplink module.
Issued a 'show port status' command.

Symptoms
The MGBIC-LC01 may be displayed as being "Combo RJ45/1000-lx", when it should be "...1000-sx" (9852).
The MGBIC-LC09 may be displayed as being "Combo RJ45/Invalid", when it should be "...1000-lx" (9852).

This is a display issue only, applicable to the MGBIC-LC01 and MGBIC-LC09 from specific manufacturers.

Solution/Workaround
Upgrade to firmware 6.61.05.0009 or higher (14480).
Release notes state, in the 'Changes and Enhancements in 6.61.05.0009' section:

code:
16483

&
code:
16893

code:
Addressed an issue whereby the CLI displayed incorrect port descriptions for certain MGBIC-LC01 and MGBIC-LC09 modules.

Pre-upgrade workaround: Ignore the condition, which is harmless. The MGBIC will function correctly.
