Password recovery process for the HiPath wireless controllers. &lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;B&gt;Solution&lt;/B&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;
1. Use the serial port of the controller to connect to the local console. &lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;B&gt;Note1: To enter the Rescue mode, you must connect a PC to the USB console port. You cannot enter the Rescue mode by connecting to the ESA ports, or management/ETH0 port.&lt;/B&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;B&gt;Note2: Before connecting into the C20's USB console port (square, labeled "USB Control"), you must download to the PC and install a third party driver: &lt;A href="https://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener"&gt;Windows 7 / Windows XP / Vista&lt;/A&gt;. &lt;BR /&gt;
This driver will give your terminal emulation program an option to select the CP21x USB connection in addition to any pre-existing serial ports.&lt;/B&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
2. Reboot the HiPath Wireless Controller. The following menu appears during the reboot process. &lt;BR /&gt;

0: Main Mode &lt;BR /&gt;
1: Rescue Mode &lt;BR /&gt;

Use the number 0 and 1 keys to select which entry is highlighted. &lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
Press enter to boot the selected OS, 'e' to edit the commands before booting, or 'c' for a command-line. &lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
Highlighted entry is 0: &lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
3. Select the Rescue Mode, and then press Enter. The Rescue Start-up Menu appears.&lt;BR /&gt;

1) Force system recovery&lt;BR /&gt;
2) Configure interface&lt;BR /&gt;
3) Configure ftp settings&lt;BR /&gt;
4) Network settings Menu&lt;BR /&gt;
5) FTP settings Menu&lt;BR /&gt;
6) Create backup&lt;BR /&gt;
7) Flash Menu&lt;BR /&gt;
 Authentication Service Management Menu&lt;BR /&gt;
9) Reboot &lt;BR /&gt;
WARNING! - Forcing system recovery will erase all files, and&lt;BR /&gt;
reinstall the backup image.&lt;BR /&gt;
Reboot will restart the system back into Normal mode.&lt;BR /&gt;

4. Type 8. The Authentication Service Management menu appears.&lt;BR /&gt;

1) Set Login Mode to Local&lt;BR /&gt;
2) Reset Accounts and Passwords to Factory Default&lt;BR /&gt;
3) Change administrator password&lt;BR /&gt;
4) Return to main menu&lt;BR /&gt;
Please enter your choice:&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
5. Type the sequence number of the appropriate option, given in the Authentication Service Management menu. &lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
- Set Login Mode to Local — Type 1 if the login authentication mode was set to RADIUS-based authentication, and you want to revert to the local login authentication mode. &lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
- Reset Accounts and Passwords to Factory Default — Type 2 if you want to reset the login accounts and password to factory defaults. &lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
- Change administrator password — Type 3 if you want to change the administrator’s password. &lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
- Return to main menu — Type 4 if you want to return to the main menu. &lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
6. After you have used any of the first three options in the Authentication Service Management menu, press Enter to return to the main menu.&lt;BR /&gt;
