Goals
Clear a MAC address from the SAT / BAF

Symptoms
'clear mac'
The 'clear mac' command has no option to clear MAC addresses

Cause
There is no current means of clearing individual MAC addresses from the Source Address Table, on the SecureStack product line.

The SecureStacks support the '
code:
clear mac

' command set, but only for the purpose of clearing the aging time back to the 300-second default value. A2(rw)->clear mac ?

agetime Clear timeout period to default value.

A2(rw)->
Solution
FAD (Functions as Designed).

Workaround: Unlink/relink the ethernet port on which the MAC address was learned (this is the most targeted approach), or reset the switch/stack. You may also issue a '
code:
set mac agetime 10

' command, wait ten seconds for all non-refreshed entries to time out, and then reset back to the default '
code:
clear mac agetime

'.

None of these methods will prevent a MAC from being relearned when it is next seen as a source MAC address for incoming traffic.
