Article ID: 14823

Products
S-Series, firmware 8.02.01.0012 and lower
Matrix N-Series DFE, firmware 6.01.01.0020 and higher
K-Series, firmware 8.02.01.0012 and lower

Changes
From the router configuration CLI, issued the 'debug ip bgp update' command.

Symptoms
BGP debug update information does not accurately reflect EBGP peer update activity.
Log output can show in excess of 40,000 routes withdrawn, when in fact there are only a few route changes.

For example, with firmware 7.71.02.0005:
N7(su)->router
N7(su-router)->configure
N7(su-router-config)->debug ip bgp update

Solution
For the S-Series, upgrade to firmware 8.11.01.0014 or higher.
