<title>topic IDF Power Configuration in General Discussion</title>
    <link>https://community.extremenetworks.com/t5/general-discussion/idf-power-configuration/m-p/96334#M1050</link>
<description>&lt;P&gt;I have come across a configuration that I have never seen before and wanted to ask the community if they are aware of any use case for this configuration.&amp;nbsp; In our environment, many of the IDF closets have one power input placed directly into the switch stack and the other power input into a battery backup.&amp;nbsp; The RAW power side is not line conditioned so is subject to brown outs which have in the past damaged power supplies and even switches.&amp;nbsp; Have any of you heard of this practice and why would it be used?&amp;nbsp; I am familiar with this practice in data center power configurations, but not for IDFs.&amp;nbsp; Any insight would be appreciated.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
