Does anyone have experience on how to integrate CMDB into Extreme networks XMC/NAC.

Are there any manuals about this?

My question is: can we import mac addresses (clients: pc’s, voipPhones, printers) automatically when they are in a certain database?

thanks in advance.

Hello Sacha,

the best way to integrate a CMDB into XMC is the NBI-API of the XMC. Among other ways, you can call the API directly from a remote system (e. g. your CMDB) or you can call the API directly from XMC and catch the data from the XMC (if you CMDB has an API, too).

Here is a manual for the API with a lot of examples:

http://documentation.extremenetworks.com/api_python/Extreme_API.pdf?_ga=2.88133723.1913999325.1622458672-913789110.1618568265

Here you can also find other already existing integrations with other manufacturers.

https://documentation.extremenetworks.com/netsight/8.5/XMC_8.5_ExtremeConnect_User_Guide.pdf?_ga=2.222934747.1913999325.1622458672-913789110.1618568265
