topic XMC: Use other Credentials for the Console Terminal Application insted of CLI Credentials Profile in Hero Product Suggestions

Hi

If we use the Console Terminal Application inside of XMC, it uses the Adminuser which is configured in the CLI Credentials Profile to log into the Switch. It would be nice if we can decide to use cli credentials (for examppe: for automations) and if we launch the Console Application, it should use the Useraccount which was used to log into XMC or ask for login credentials. overall there should be more enhancements to the Console Application.

Regards

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

you can achieve your goal partialy if you disable automatic web-terminal login. Then you can or better you have to enter your own user credentials.

BR,

Matthias

Hello,

Many of my customers would like to have exactly the mentioned function (switch login with xmc login data) as well.

Thomas,

I agree web console app needs enhancements, however what specific value would using same credentials to login to switch and to XMC would deliver ?
Credential profiles today allow you to differentiate credentials for users and automation workflows.
As Matthias says, you can turn off auto-login if you would like to force users to authenticate manually.
