Fan Monitoring

Fan Monitoring

We need to monitor the fans of 31 Extreme switches in our network using NPM.
The OID that I used to monitor the fans is "1.3.6.1.4.1.1916.1.1.1.9.1.2" and the result always "1" even when there is a fan fault.
We have a switch the fan LED is blinking orange. I tried to check the fans status directly from the switch using "show fans" I have found 6 fans in this switch one of them is not operational the RPM was zero.
So how we can monitor each fan in each switch to get the correct result that indicates that the fan working well or not.

I would setup a trap receiver, and look out for the below trap.

Name extremeFanfailed

OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.1916.0.7

MIB EXTREME-TRAP-MIB

Objects sysUpTime, sysDescr, extremeFanNumber

Description: A fan failed trap indicates one or more of the cooling fans inside the device has failed. A fanOK trap will be sent once the fan has attained normal operation.

Thanks Alot.
I will create a new trap for this.
But for what is this OID "1.3.6.1.4.1.1916.1.1.1.9.1.2" used ??
