Temperature / fans X440-G2

Hello,
I'm trying to deploy an X440-G2 switch but I meet a problem with the equipment

When I plug in an AP 7522 for example, after 5min I have the fans racing and making a monster noise, with a temperature rising up (I only have two ports plugged in on the switch) another POE equipment causes the same thing... This is the first time I have deployed an X440 switch, has anyone ever meet this problem?
Switch faulty?
I am in version 22.7.1.2, I was able to find on the Hub similar topics but that indicated that they were fixed with a version 22.7.1.2.

Thank for your help

Sounds like this issue.....
https://gtacknowledge.extremenetworks.com/articles/Solution/Fan-Speed

  • When providing PoE to fewer than 6 devices, the fan speed on X440-G2 PoE models rises to over 15,000 RPM.
  • Upon exceeding 6 connected PoE devices, the fan speed begins to fall back to normal levels.

Thx to @Anton Sax for working together with the GTAC on this issue....

Indeed I don't really understand why it displays such a high temperature.

We are very few connected users (max 5 users), the switch must operate at least 5% of its capacity.

Here's the result of the top command :

Fans are OK and PoE is only 7.2 W, but I think the temperature seems very high. It is probably a temperature taken close to the CPU, but since the m´normal range is 10-100, 90 is very high. Is your CPU utilization high? That may be an entirely different problem, but worth looking into.

Hi Fredrik ;

The first measurement was taken at the same location. The switch is in a room where it is either about 23°.
I actually think that the temperature should be the same as the CPU temperature because the switch is not very hot.

Here is a report from this morning still in the same room with POE consumption.
