WiNG AP's blocking Wake On Lan packets

WiNG AP's blocking Wake On Lan packets

Hey all,

we have 2 sites at the moment. Since the sites are actually 2 different companies the networks are also different. We use WoL packets all the time on the other site running a different vendor of wireless networks without any problems.

On our other site we use Extreme Networks and it looks like the package are blocked. When i test it within our testing environment (different vendor) everything goes fine.
Does somebody know where I can find any settings for this in the WiNG software? I haven't found any setting for this yet.

Hi,

Can you ensure you have the firewall policy configured for best practice.

Hi Jochemke,

Below is a link to WiNG documentation.

I changed our firewall settings according the recommendations in that post. The current network owner just ticked all the boxes in the Firewall probably without even thinking that it could interfere with our systems or usages.

Daren, maybe it's not a question for you but do you know if it is possible to find or get some documentation regarding the Extreme Networks technology, management and the WiNG management? I have worked only with cisco devices in the past but I would love to understand more about extreme networks
