AP30 needs Pilot license?

AP30 needs Pilot license?

Hello,

I am thinking of using AP30 Atom APs to extend coverage of existing CloudIQ WiFi.
This existing network is based on Connect type account (no paid subscription needed).

I've found information that AP30 needs Pilot license to onboard.

Can anyone confirm that I can't onboard AP30 to Connect CloudIQ type network?

Hi Robert, as far as I can tell you should be able to add an AP30 to Connect just fine, no licenses needed.

Quick note- adding any kind of license to a Connect instance will convert it to Pilot, and that's a one way conversion so to go back to Connect you'd have to register for a new instance all together.

A good test if you're wondering if a certain model is usable in Connect is to try to simulate that device model (Manage> Devices> Plus Icon to add new device> Quick Add> Simulated Devices> Choose the model in question from the drop down list). If you can simulate the model, you should be able to onboard that model as well.

Hi Sam,

Yes, I am aware of one way Connect -> Pilot conversion.
And I was able to add simulated Atom AP to my Connect instance! 🙂

Thank you for help!
