How many BR-MLX-100Gx2-CFP2 cards in MLX-8e

How many BR-MLX-100Gx2-CFP2 cards can be used in MLX8e chassis? In older documentation it states odd/even slots as a pair The odd number is the active slot. The new documentation doesn't state that? Maybe a newer SW version allows for any slot now?
