Hi community,
Does Aerohive have outdoor access point to make P2P bridges for long distances? (ex. more as 500m )Something like Lancom OAP-821 link kitt..
Thanks,
Bram

Our most powerful outdoor access point would be the AP1130, but for that distance you would want some strong directional antennas to go with it. Here is the datasheet for the AP1130 for reference- https://www.aerohive.com/wp-content/uploads/Aerohive_Datasheet_AP1130.pdf

If we're looking at our 18dBi narrow beam Directional Antenna (http://www.aerohiveworks.com/datasheets/Aerohive_Datasheet_AP170_AP1130_Antenna.pdf), and theoretically we get 100 meters from 1dBi in perfect conditions, then we should be getting roughly 18,000 meters with these antennas, but again that is in a perfect lab setting. We can't give you an exact range because that depends so heavily on environmental factors.
We support up to 4 hops in a Mesh chain.

Hello SAM,
Thanks for the information, that could be asolution, but what's the maximum distance with a directional antenna? No information about in the datasheet .. and how many hops are allowed?
Thanks,
Bram

Also, this is a guide for setting up Mesh in HiveManager (formerly NG), is that what you meant when you referenced a P2P bidge?
