Oh I see, I had the information in this guide witch is a little outdated:

Thanks

All that I/O is from disk swapping due to insufficient memory. The minimum recommended is 24MGs for up to 500 APs and 32MGs for up to 5000 APs. Your still under the recommended value for a deployment of your size. If you can afford to give it more than 32MGs it wouldn't hurt, Linux would use that extra memory as cache.

Hi,

I uprgaded the VM from 16GB to 24GB (up to 2000 AP configuration ! ) of RAM, the VA is mutch more responsive and doesn't use a lot of disk IO now.

Looks like the VA consumes a LOT of RAM and act weird when it has not enough to run the 4 tomcats servers + elasticsearch + RabitMQ, etc...

After upgrading the RAM, I was able to log in and set the password (I had false auth errors due to lack of memory apparently).

So if you have wery slow and high CPU/Disk consumption, just choose the up to 2000 AP configuration requirement on the memory side (4 vCPU is enough), even if you have a few APs...

I hope Aerohive will work on memory optimization for the next release 😉
