Dropped Packets and Latency

Dropped Packets and Latency

We are having dropped packets in certain conditions. We have a series of AP121 devices with 2 SSID's... Secure and Guest on VLAN 100 and 101 respectively.  When connected through AP on Secure, VLAN 100, we have no speed or ping issues connecting to default gateway in that VLAN. ping speeds about 1-3 ms.

WHen we do the same on Guest vlan, we get dropped packets and about every 2-3 pings fails. We have proven that the switch and router are not the issue by connecting to the specific switch port and putting our laptop on the same vlan.

Both guest and secure AP settings are the same except for VLAN related info.

I spoke directly with a support agent about this and they determined it is not WAP or config related.

Are you using ExtremeCloud IQ (formerly HiveManager NG) or HiveManager Classic? This guide will walk you through how to determine which HiveManager you are using, for reference: https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/article/Which-HiveManager-Platform-am-I-using

If you'r using HiveManager Classic, could you tell me your VHM ID found in Help>About HiveManager?

If you're using ExtremeCloud IQ, could you add me as an external user with the email address spirok@extremenetworks.com? This guide reviews how to add an external user and how to find your Organization name, which I will need to find your VIQ specifically: https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/article/Allowing-Support-Access-to-HiveManager

I won't make any changes to your configuration, I just want to see the settings in use currently. If you'd like to share your VHM ID directly, my email is communityhelp@aerohive.com.
