If we login as Admin and click on Update Software (we simply "update" to the same version that is currently installed) the server comes back and we are able to log in and use the HiveManager as expected.
Can you please advise what may be causing this issue and what we can do to resolve it.

Hello,
If the Hivemanager on-prem loses connection with the License Server, it would trigger this error. You may find in your firewall, a denied attempt to hmupdates.aerohive.com on port 443
I recommend creating a rule to allow the Hivemanager to access hmupdates.aerohive.com on port 443 for license validation.

The error is as follows:
HiveManager {IP Address} validate key failed in License Server. This HiveManager Virtual Appliance cannot be validated by a corresponding entitlement key in license server. Please contact Aerohive Technical Support for assistance.
