Without any warning or notification, the license subscription price went up over double this year. I manage the network at a non-profit school with a slim budget and since this was totally unexpected, I did not budget for this massive increase. My licenses have now expired and I have no way to purchase licenses to manage all our AP devices. We have been a happy Aerohive customer for years but now feel that we are being gouged with no options.

Hello @Jon Horton , I'm sorry for the slow response, I have been asking around to see if we can get more details on what happened for you. Since we are a channel company, all communication regarding licensing should come from your Aerohive partner, and they sent out notification about these changes in February and May of 2018 (I can forward you a copy of this notification if you'd like). We are still looking in to why you may not have received these emails, and I'll keep you updated on that front. That said, we understand your frustration and we do want to continue to work with you. Your Aerohive Regional Manager has been made aware of the situation and I know they are looking in to options for you as well. I will update you if I find anything else out, but I wanted to get you an update as soon as possible.

I have asked why and been given no reason. As for HiveManager Connect, it won't work for us since we do use PPSK and other more advanced features. It just doesn’t seem like something a reputable company would do to increase costs over 100% with no warning or reason. We are very disappointed.

Unfortunately, technical support isn't going to have much information on price points or quotes. You'd want to talk to your Sales Engineer about why the price increased and what your options are. I will say, we have a HiveManager platform that you can use for free, called HiveManager Connect. It doesn't have some of the more advanced enterprise level features (such as PPSK or internal Radius), but you do not have to purchase entitlement keys at all to use this platform, and it supports all devices. If you can tell me a little about your network set up and any SSIDs that you are using, I can give you a better idea of whether Connect would work for you. I'm sorry for the frustrations recently, hopefully we can get you answers and a solution that works for you.
