You can update the firwmare using the web UI and using the firmware dowload a the top of the page https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/article/Upgrading-AP-firmware-via-web-UI

However you'll still need somewhere where the AP is going to pull the configuration from.

Why do you need to download the HiveManager rather than just to use the Cloud version of the platform? As I say, you'll need to purchase it to have an On Premise version.
