I have purchased a small number of AP121s for home use. I have no hivemanager but I can configure them fine through the CLI. Firmware is from 6.1r1 through 6.5r8a . Where can I obtain the latest version?

This is my first experience of Aerohive and I must say that I'm very impressed. A well thought out product that has been very well executed.

I know that this is a discontinued product but I have noted a couple of points that may be of interest.

1) I tried to power both an AP121 and a Snom phone on the downstream side of a Netgear GS105PE switch. I think there should have been sufficient power but the switch refused to power both. I don't know for certain but I suspect his is because the AP121 doesn't report itself as a Class 2 POE device. In this case the switch would assume it's a Class 0 which means the total power budget is too great.

2) I know that I'm not configuring these in the normal way but it may make more sense to put the hostname as a boot-param. That way I could run the same configuration on all devices.

Hi Joe, I've emailed you directly with the firmware files you'll need and a guide that reviews how to update the devices via the Web UI of the APs. You'd need to purchase some level of support with us to see downloads in Hive Community. Please let me know if you have any issues updating your devices.
