Mesh between AP130 and AP150w

Mesh between AP130 and AP150w

I want to use a AP150w without LAN connection as mesh and the ethernet ports for connecting wired clients.

I have set up a wireless network which runs ok. Then i configure the AP150 on wifi0 as backhaul mesh and choose the same channel as on the wired AP130. But after a restart, the AP150w will not mesh connect to the AP130. And, i see no Neighboring Devices on the AP150w, while using a wired connection. Strange.

May anybody share some light with me. I am totally lost.

Thanks for help.

You'll need to enabled this on the AP130 also in order for the 150 to mesh. It may not come up instantly, but if you keep check on the show amrp neighbor you should see it come up shortly after.

If you aren't seeing neighboring devices, we are likely not getting successful background scans out of that AP. If you can share some tech data from the AP, I can confirm this for you and show you how to check for this yourself.

To get tech data using HiveManager Classic (myhive.aerohive.com) go to

Monitor> Select the check box next to the AP> Utilities> Get Tech Data.

To get tech data using HiveManager (formerly NG, cloud.aerohive.com) go to

Tools> Utilities> Get tech data> Check the box next to the device> Get tech data (blue button at the top of the page this time).

This guide reviews how to get tech data from the CLI of the AP in case that's easier:

If you would rather share the tech data with me directly, please feel free to email me at communityhelp@aerohive.com.
